| Take a trip to My Son on the southwest of Danang and find out about the history and culture of Vietnam. The site was chosen by Champa King Bhadravarnam – I as a religious sanctuary where he built many beautiful temples and towers. This zone is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As you explore the area, you’ll see many temples dedicated to Kings and Brahman deities, including Lord Shiva who was considered the creator, founder and defender of the Champa Kingdom. Find out about the two clans of Champa people, the Cau and the Dua, and learn about their history and the culture through displays of sculptures and carvings found in the temples. Visit the Cham Museum and appreciate the Champa sculpture displays dating from 7th century to 15th century. See altars, statues, decorative works collected from Buddhist and Hindu temples apart from about 300 sandstone and terracotta sculptures. The museum showcases the eight centuries of evolution of Champa sculpture from the golden age to its decline. Learn about the way of life of the Champas and explore some interesting relics of the Cham royal dynasties on this historical tour in Danang. |
